Here is a quick Summer Field Day (SFD) update on behalf of your Summer Field Day Committee.
A quick reminder: this is our first attempt at running our own SFD in quite some time, so our goal this year is to KISS (Keep It Simple Silly).
SFD is June 27–28. For this outing, we will only be operating on Saturday, from the start at 2:00pm to 10:00pm.
We are operating at Edenville’s Swanton Memorial Hall: 6460 N. Water Road in Edenville.
Setup will start around 10:00am (though some intrepid souls may show up earlier).
We will have 5 operating positions plus the VHF “talk-in”. Thanks to our Discord Wizard, Ric, KD0RMK, we have an online schedule that we can use to sign up for slots. Consider taking a slot or two. To sign up for a slot, either go to the MEMCOMM discord server and go to the Summer-Field-Day channel and type “signmeup”, or sign up on the Google Sheet. We’ll have computers attached to each radio and will be computer logging using N3FJP’s Field Day package. Quick Reference Cards will be provided.
Consistent with our KISS theme, we will only use the five HF Stations and ask that you not bring your HF gear as we will have our hands full just keeping this on the air.
Food:
- Snacks, water, and coffee will be available throughout the day.
- Lunch: Starting at noon, cold cut platter, condiments, buns and chips.
- Dinner: Starting at 6:00pm, Pulled pork, buns, baked beans, coleslaw.
- Dessert: Starting at 8:00pm, Pot Luck
We will cease operations at 10:00pm EDT and hopefully be cleaned up and on our way home by midnight (or before).
